You Can Save This Blog

Dear Fans of the EDS Blog,

Would you like to help save this blog? You need to take action and enroll the help of your friends as well.

See the "Followers" List to the right? I need to know there is sufficient interest in this blog in order for me to keep it alive. I need you to add yourself to the followers list. I need you to read this post and give me feedback.

Why?

In case you haven't noticed, I took the blog offline in mid-June. Before that, daily posting that you all enjoyed since October 2006 stopped in November 2007. I felt there was a lack of support for the blog (lack of support / lack of interest because no one communicated with us that they liked our blog posts), not to mention that I was over-committed in too many projects. I received many emails while the blog was offline, asking for permission to read the blog. I turned people away saying the blog was "closed for maintenance."

At one point, I considered transferring the rights to a scrapbook manufacturer.

At one point, I considered transferring the rights to one of the scrapbook magazines.

At one point, I considered a way to make the blog into an online magazine of its own.

It's never been about the money. I have this on blogger because blogger is free. I never asked anyone for money in order to advertise on this site, and the only reason I took on advertisers was a way to compensate the generous & talented ladies who helped me run the blog. I no longer wish to have advertisers of any kind.

I just couldn't keep on giving out free information while no one was leaving any feedback for us on whether the tutorials were useful, any feedback on if they found our newsletters informative, any feedback for any of the hardwork we have been doing.

If you want to save this blog, then you have to interact with us. I can't read your minds people. If you want to save this blog, I need you to take a moment when you read a tutorial to give it a rating

  • 4 stars for outstanding
  • 3 stars for average
  • 2 stars for anything below average (explain)

That's it. Follow us and interact with us by leaving feedback and/or ratings. You do that and this blog will stick around. We might undergo some changes here and there but until you tell us you want us, this blog might end up gone forever.

Thanks!
I look forward to hearing from you all.

I love to read tutorials so will be looking forward to what you offer - and I will rate them!

Just like scrapbooking - do what you want to do and do it because you like to do it.

Choosing to continue to blog shouldn't rely on affirmation from the public (although it is a wonderful ego boost!).

If you are passionate about continuing the blog, then keep going.

Good luck with your decision.

It's all clear to me now! I think you should do what is best for you...you are one busy gal, for sure! But I did miss the posts and this is (and you are) what got me into more digital and hybrid scrapping, and I'm so glad. {heart} Your NY buddy :)

I get a lot of "plan to" activities from your blog and I love the diva cards you posted a while ago...I made a couple of sets and sent them to my friends (how are now asking for more). This is also the site that got me more involved with hybrid scrapping. I would love for you to keep the blog going but you have to do what's best for you.

I really like your blog and tutorials, although I'm not as faithful a reader as most.

However, I'm not a member of google blogger so I don't always comment and won't sign up as a "follower" for that reason. That doesn't mean that I don't enjoy or learn from your tutorials. A lot of what I know about hybrid and digital scrapbooking I have learned from you and I thank you for that.

THanks all for your feedback. The reason I need to know people are finding this blog valuable is because I will still write tutorials but I will re-prioritize and offer my tutorials in a location where there is more interest. Thanks again for your support and the time it takes to write a note! I appreciate it more than you know!

I apologize for not leaving a comment when visiting this blog (which I do often). I love your tutorials, and it would be a shame to lose them. I will rate them from now on
