How to Create a Stunning Pillow Customized for Your Home Decor with Digital Products
Create your desired pillow design in Photoshop. When you are finished, flatten image and then click Image>Rotate>Flip Horizontal. The design will need to be printed backwards on transfer paper. Print your design onto the iron-on transfer paper. Use manufacturer’s instructions to heat transfer image onto fabric. I chose a very light-colored fabric to make the colors in my design very vibrant. Now with right-sides together, stitch to a backing fabric, leaving an opening to turn. Turn right sides out, stuff and stitch opening closed. I also added a patchwork border to the top and bottom of my iron-on design. You can do this by piecing together 2 ½” squares and sewing to your transferred design before stitching to the backing fabric.
