One of my favorite actions is the Chipboard action by Atomic Cupcake (http://www.atomiccupcake.com). I've used it for title text quite a bit.

But could it be used for other things? The answer is yes! For this layout, I used the Pristine Chipboard Action on a photo. This makes it look like the photo is mounted to chipboard and the edges sanded. Don't be afraid to use your techniques in new and innovative ways.

Other tricks: I used the eyedropper tool to match the title text color to the paper used to mat the photo. Then under Blending Options, I added a drop shadow and some texture.
